Had the shrimp po boy with creole fries. Overall disappointed in the quality for the price. The po boy was $17 and the fries were a separate charge of $5, $23 total. The po boy had 10 shrimp, a untoasted bun, lettuce, tomato, and a sauce on the top which was tasty. Fries were average but the portion was small compared to the $5 price tag, no dipping sauce offered. Overall confused as to what I payed $23 for. A food truck with lower overhead should have comparable prices to other restaurants, if not better pricing. I saw the prices beforehand, I could have walked away, but I thought the food would justify the price so I went for it. Quality just was not there. EDIT: updating my review to 1 star as the owner told me to “stay in my lane” with his response. I just had a Poboy from a sit down restaurant. It was $12 for the po boy with a side, added a second side plus had a drink, all for $17, with a $5 tip it was still less than I what paid at this food truck. Owner does not take feedback well, even when it is justified.

We tried the food truck today, at downtown Duluth. I enjoyed my burger, the showstopper, very saucy.

I got the kids "gettin shrimpy" which they enjoyed.

Had tried Cajun mac and cheese, and it was cold and not appetizing. The Cajun fries felt like something I could make at home. The beignets were the least disappointing thing I tried, but also nothing extraordinary. The service was also mediocre, I’ve had better service at other food trucks. The man who attended us would not provide enough utensils for the group of family and friends. Very petty.

Overall food was 5/10. Ordered the fries, Mac and cheese, and beignets with my friends. Beignets were 9/10, they were so soft and the right amount of sweet. Fries and Mac and cheese were decent. The service is why I am posting this 1 star review. When my friends asked for extra utensils at separate times, they were both declined and told that there was a spoon and fork in each utensil packet. We were made to feel bad for asking for extra utensils. I’m sure the owner is hardworking and is not always like this; but will not be returning to this food truck.

Ordered the shrimp Po Boy and Creole fries. The shrimp Po Boy was a good size, bread was lightly toasted which left it nice and soft, the shrimp tasted fresh with a nice crust and the sauce was adequate for the size, not too saucy and not too dry. The fries were nicely seasoned and had a nice crunch on the outside. My kids favourite fries are McDonald's, and these are comparable in terms of cut and crispiness.

Found out from my colleague who went down after eating to thank them for the great food and found out the bread for the Po Boy is freshly baked. The freshly baked bread and jucy shrimp definitely made the Po Boy stand out.

My friends and I decided to try out a few items here while at Truck and Tap. Due to one of my friends being vegetarian, we ordered fries, Mac n cheese, and the beignets. After a tip was added, the total came out slightly over $20. The food was ok. The fries were Cajun seasoned and were ok. The Mac n cheese was also a Cajun seasoned Mac n cheese. The beignets were cinnamon flavored. Overall, the food was 4/10. The reason I am writing a poor review is because of the poor customer service. Since we were all splitting the Mac n cheese, I was hoping to get three forks. Upon asking the owner, he stated that the utensils package has two sets of silverware for a total of four utensils. I was just dumbfounded when he responded that way when asking for some extra utensils which probably cost a few cents. I understand that you’re a small business owner but that’s simply “nickel and diming”. I mean, we literally spent over $20 for smaller than average portions and food that was below average with regards to taste. If the owner is so concerned with overhead from utensils, my suggestion is the owner buy bulk forks, spoons, knives, and napkins individually as opposed to the ones packaged together in a plastic container where most people will not use the plastic knives or spoons at times as his main concern is waste. The next time I see this food truck at Truck and Tap, I will not be returning my business.

EDIT: The owner did offer an extra package of silverware upon seeing my facial expression when he initially said we had enough utensils as is. I should have included that in my initial review and that was unfair. However, the fact that we're even having this debate is simply absurd (just give the customer the utensils...). We ordered three items. Is it really such an improper expectation on the customer to expect three utensil packages? The owner made this whole situation into a bigger deal than it needed to be. I really do believe the owner is a hard-working, honest man and wish him the best in the future. I simply disagree with how he's conducting his business in regards to customer service which is evident by the 3.8 star average review for the business.

I also did some research on costs. I believe there's some room for the owner to lower his overhead since he was very concerned about a $0.17 cent cost of the utensils package. After a simple search on google, a 1000 count box of plastic forks, spoons, and knives could be purchased for $38 per package. That equates to $0.038 cents per utensil... A 500 count package of napkins can be purchased for $3.32 per package. That equates to $0.00664. Seeing as the owner is such an astute businessman, I'm sure he will take this feedback into bettering his business.

Fantastic po boy! The bread was so fresh and soft, a ton of fresh fried shrimp (literally over flowing) and the sauce was just the right amount of spice 10/10 would recommend
