I cannot say enough great things about Marina Landing - I inherited my teeth from my dad’s side of the family and I have struggled with cavities, grinding teeth, multiple rounds of ortho and basically a ton of teeth trauma. Marina Landing takes the time to make sure I feel safe and comfortable, they hold my hand and help me each step of the way. I felt in my 20’s and 30’s that I was on a very bad path and since coming here I finally feel like I have good oral health and that took both excellent dental care and just honest human caring to be consistent and on the right track.

I always have a good experience at Marina Landing. They take great care of my teeth with their excellent skills, the latest technology and and a caring attitude. I am 80 years old and have great looking teeth and healthy gums thanks to their efforts. Good teeth are important for continuing good health. I wouldn't think of going to any other dentist.

Be careful.

They told me I needed a "Deep cleaning," and the cost would be about $1400. My other dentist in the Bay Area said they would charge $900 for a deep cleaning, and that dentist was surprised that the dentist at Marina Landing suggested a deep cleaning.

When I went to my other dentist for an exam and cleaning , about two months after the diagnosis by Marina Landing for a deep cleaning, the other dentist and their hygienist said a deep cleaning was not necessary. They just did a regular cleaning. My Delta Dental insurance paid for all of the regular cleaning.

My husband and I had spent a couple of months searching for a dentist. The urgency increased when I cracked my tooth. After the initial assessment and X-rays, Dr. Dharia proposed a crown and four fillings for other teeth. I agreed to the treatment and arranged another appointment. During the second visit for a temporary crown, Dr. Dharia asked if I grind my teeth, to which I replied no, explaining that the wear was due to nail-biting. Dr. Dharia suggested a mouth guard and asked me to confirm with my husband if I grind my teeth at night, even though he had never heard me do so. When I returned for the crown fitting, I reiterated that I do not grind my teeth, causing Dr. Dharia to seem displeased. The crown's out-of-pocket cost was $1800, which I found excessive. After questioning my insurance company, I discovered that the actual cost should have been no more than $500. Upon contacting Dr. Dharia's office about the high charges, I was informed that it was due to the porcelain crown and that my insurance would not cover it. However, my insurance confirmed that porcelain crowns were fully covered. The receptionist then mentioned a warranty on the tooth, which I had not been informed about either verbally or in writing.
After my second visit, my husband also saw Dr. Dharia for a regular cleaning. Surprisingly, he was advised to get a mouthguard and a deep cleaning due to plaque buildup. He agreed to pay $400 for cleaning half of his teeth and planned to return for the rest later, paying another $400. Concerned about our expenses, I suggested canceling his next appointment and seeking a second opinion. My husband, who has never had a cavity and always had good oral hygiene, was examined by another dentist, who confirmed he didn't need deep cleaning. Similarly, I was told I didn't require 4 fillings, and the discomfort from my crown might be due to substandard dental work from Dr. Dharia's practice.
I lodged a complaint with my insurance provider due to high charges. Unsurprisingly, Dr. Dharia's office did not address my insurance company's inquiry. After reviewing testimonials from other patients on Yelp, it is clear that Dr. Dharia aims to maximize profits by recommending unnecessary treatments and employing misleading sales strategies. Her office resembles a used car dealership more than a dental clinic.
